World number-one platinum-miner Anglo Platinum said on Wednesday
that government had lifted its nearly ten-day suspension of
drilling and blasting at the Amandelbult mine, northwest of
Johannesburg.
"The suspension has been lifted, and drilling and blasting has begun again," spokesperson Simon Tebele said over the telephone.
The Department of Minerals and Energy halted those activities last week on Monday, after a worker died in a rockfall.
Tebele said previously that production was still continuing, even though there was no blasting or drilling.
Government had met with Angloplat on Friday and again on Wednesday afternoon.
