Decathlon
Outlet Store
Recreation-minded
Taiwanese and foreign residents alike will enjoy one of the city's
larger sporting goods stores, owned and operated by Decathlon. As
the number-one sporting goods retailer in Europe and third-largest
in the world, the French company offers a full range of its
products at its only Taiwan store. About 70 percent of the store's
products are imported, from France and elsewhere, and fall into
six main categories: camping/hiking, watersports, bicycling, team
sports (soccer, basketball, etc.), fitness, and golf/badminton/tennis--all
bearing the brand names of Decathlon and its other specialized
labels like Quechua, Tribord, and Geologic. The vast range of
goods includes bicycles, inline skates, tents, sleeping bags,
diving masks and flippers, boots, shoes, wetsuits, tennis/badminton
rackets, balls, athletic braces and supports, sunglasses, and a
very large range of recreational clothing, from fleece pullovers
to socks. Because these items come directly from the main company,
prices are significantly cheaper. The best way to find Decathlon
is to head south on WenXin South Road, turn right onto YungChun
East Road and turn right again at YungChun Esat 1st Road.
