Bring Virtual Work to Your
Organization

All around us, mobility and
technology are driving new ways to work. This emerging trend in
the workplace is an opportunity to improve the competitiveness
of our local firms and the quality of our workforce, both of
which are critical to our future economic growth.
Organizations that master virtual work can attract and retain
skilled employees without geographic limitations. Virtual work
can:
reduce employee absenteeism
reduce demand for office space and real estate
improve employee performance
increase employee satisfaction
Business Assessment
Lorain County Community College is bringing the benefits of
virtual work to our county by partnering with Atlanta-based e-Work.com,
a nationally recognized
leader in virtual work programs. We will select four local
employers who will receive, a no-charge ‘Virtual Work Assessment’
to identify specific benefits, values and potential needs.
Because we ‘practice what we teach,’ LCCC will also be assessing
its virtual workplace potential.
As a selected company, your organization will participate in a
Virtual Work program Roundtable, collecting data on results,
sharing of best practices, and directing future program
activities to best support other local employers.
Best practices include establishing a program vision, developing
a customized virtual work implementation process, properly
preparing the workforce through orientation and training, and
establishing metrics to evaluate program results.
Virtual work can be an important part of workforce and economic
development in our community. LCCC’s mission is to train people
for the jobs that need to be done and the way in which they are
done. We have no doubt that virtual work will remain an ever-increasing
practice in our community, strengthening our workforce and its
employers for decades to come. To compete globally, a broad-based
effort is needed to help companies realize the benefits of
virtual work.
